DOC - AGM/26.3.2010
DOC held its AGM on 26.3.2010 at the Guild Hall in Lydd which was very well attended. We were joined on the night by many of our members, supporters, stakeholders and council representatives from across the Marsh.
After a welcoming speech by DOC’s Chairman, Terry Preston, our Hon. Consultant Malcolm Kerby from Norfolk (NVCC/CCAG) addressed the meeting and emphasised the remarkable achievements of DOC since its inauguration. He expressed the importance of our continued negotiations for adequate sea defences in our area on local, regional and senior national level with Government Agencies and congratulated us on our success so far.
Our Technical Officer Tony Hills gave an excellent PowerPoint presentation, outlining the potential flooding risks for the Romney Marsh, which was followed by a very informative Q & A session. The Chairman presented his report to the members and thanked DOC’s outgoing Vice Chairman, Barbara Walsh, for her continued commitment to the Association.
Reports were submitted by DOC Treasurer , Pat Brazier and DOC PR/Media Coordinator, Brigitte Bass. The election of Officers to the Executive Committee took place and DOC is delighted to welcome David Oliver (Internal Drainage Board- Romney Marsh) as new Vice Chairman.
DOC looks forward to a productive year ahead and wishes to thank all its members for their continued support.
