DOC will take part in a half day conference arranged by  the All Party Parliamentary Group Coastal and Marine, and Coastal Concern Action Group to be held on 6 July 2009 . (Venue: Institution of Civil Engineers, 1 Great George St, Westminster ).

As the second round of shoreline management planning has progressed , the issue of adaptation to climate change has come to the fore. At the core of this ongoing debate is to what extent communities and individual needs are accommodated in the adaptation policy.

Speakers from three   affected communities will outline their situations and DOC has been selected as one of these communities to present their case to the  Minister. In response the Minister responsible for Flood and Erosion Management, Huw Irranca-Davies MP, will make a statement from the Government perspective.
