Stockpiling of Shingle at Broomhill Sands Car Park
The Environment Agency has been busy during the last few weeks stockpiling shingle at the Broomhill Sands Car Park. Groynes have also been repaired/replaced where necessary. But this work only represents a temporary element of safety for our sea defences . Construction of the new sea wall is vital to protect the Marsh and we cannot afford any delays. DOC is delighted to report that the first Interest and Design Board Workshops for the Broomhill Sands Sea Defences Scheme have now been arranged by the Environment Agency for the 12 and 13 May 2009 and DOC will be represented on both boards . DOC shall continue to stress the importance of early completion of the scheme to the Environment Agency and will report back to its members with any progress.
