DEFRA has just published their “Strategy for promoting an integrated approach to the management of coastal areas in England’ .

This documents sets out the Government’s vision for coastal management, objectives and actions to achieve the vision, and  explains how all the changes currently being taken forward will work together in coastal areas.

But the report has not been greeted with too much overall  enthusiasm by  individual coastal  communities who had hoped for a constructive lead from Government on coast management issues.
