Fact Finding Site Inspection at Galloways/Lydd Ranges
DOC arranged a site inspection at Galloways/Lydd Ranges with EA and MOD Staff which took place on 30 December 2008. Our Technical Officer Tony Hills and MOD Staff were able to update the EA on the present state of sea defences at Galloways/Lydd Ranges.
It also presented an ideal opportunity to meet with the newly appointed EA team in charge of carrying out the planned sea defence improvements for the Romney Marsh Area and DOC looks forward working closely together with the EA Team to secure a satisfactory outcome . Regular progress reports have been promised by the EA which will be published on this website as soon as they become available.
In the meantime much needed re-shingling work continues at various locations along the coastline to minimise the risk of flooding.
